A banshee (bean sí, “woman of the fairies” or “woman of the mound”) is a fae figure known as the spirit who announces the death of someone in the family with her lament  the keening. The sound can be described as a piercing cry, a wail, or a funeral song. Many accounts describe the banshee’s lament as coming “with the wind” or “in the wind,” able to be heard from afar even without her being visible. The wind serves as the medium carrying her scream, giving the sensation that it “travels” through the night.

Aerodynes are often associated with beings who can hear the spiritual world, for they are attuned to it. Their crystalline heart, though seldom spoken of, can be an object of interest to supernatural beings,  a source of essence and power, something to be consumed.

But what happens when the spiritual world hears the incessant laments and pleas for death of a young man?

It answers.

Venus ends up attracting a spiritual entity drawn to his melancholy and crystalline heart. Yielding to the trap, he and his companions are lured through a spiritual rupture in the forests of Dalthala, ending up in a labyrinth of howling winds. But the prey will become the hunter,  the goal is to capture the banshee’s spirit, to weaponize one's sorrow, to transform it into destructive power.
