  Endless Stunning
Posted by: Age of Shadows - 12-18-2019, 06:43 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (8)

Give people a stun immunity for 1 second after a stun ends. Being endlessly chained in stun after stun sequentially until you're mush is awful.

  Fire Recolor
Posted by: Xzerx - 12-18-2019, 04:51 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (4)

I know the issue is kind of small but I'd like to suggest a fix for the intermediate+ fire spells so that they too can be recolored to purple with the plasma aura.

So far I know Scorch and Overheat use the original color, unsure about flame slide.

  ryou's doodles
Posted by: ry0un0suke - 12-18-2019, 08:56 AM - Forum: Creative Corner - Replies (56)

Aight boys I do art and I like doodling so I'm gonna do doodles if anyone's into that-- Like doodles of characters and such. The idea came to me after I doodled such characters. I can do things more detailed things but I'm more interested in cute, simple stuff right now! If you're interested you can DM me on discord @ ry0un0suke#6117 or post directly on the thread. If not, I'll just share some of my art!

I'd do these for $5 USD, also! $8 USD for two characters.
Please note that the style is really simple so I'd prefer to not do anything as complicated!
This was just for fun. It'd be a lot cleaner but I hope it suffices as an example!

A Celebration of Life - Charity Event

A Celebration of Life
1665AC
Flyers soon start circulating with details regarding a ball that was being hosted by the Salis family, at their own mansion. It seemed to be a strange time to hold such an event, but the text upon the flyer explained such thought process in detail:

Quote:
"The First Order has recently lost one of their own in Jasper Monticlare. He was beloved by all, and will be missed by all. I was initially going to hold this party in celebration of our successful rescue of our cadet, Asphira, as well as the recent promotions. Instead, I hold this party for something far more important: the memory of Jasper. I will be instituting an entrance fee of 200 coins, and all proceeds will be donated to the newly elected Mayor of Sudbury, for improvement within the slums, in the name of Jasper Monticlare. Any larger donations are also welcome."

Further details about the party are as follows:
- Formal wear, or armor is required
- This will be a CHARITY ball, with any and all proceeds going to the newly elected Mayor of Sudbury
- As such, the entrance fee is 200 coins, and larger donations are of course welcome.
- The party will start at 6pm EST, on 12/20 (this friday) and last until the guests get tired and go home.
- A map has been included, for those who do not know where the Salis mansion is located.
- NOTE: This is not off limits to anyone, so anyone who can afford the 200 coin entrance fee is welcome. Those who wish to donate more are even more so welcome!

  Dunst's Disgraceful Dungeoneering
Posted by: Dimmie Dunce - 12-17-2019, 08:18 PM - Forum: Dungeon Master - No Replies

Key: Dimmie
Event Preferences: Solo, 2-3 people, 4 at most. Just expect it to be weird, out of the box, and no I won't follow the entire guidelines you give me. I'll build on them as if they were a foundation, I like being stupid and creative.
Contact Information: Dimmi3 Dunc3 #3420
Anything Else:

  • I haven't DM'd since old Eternia
  • I am shit at balance, except in solo events. You have been warned. I will however, pull back the injuries if I think I was unfair. Or do an extra round second boss phase if I think I didn't do well enough.
  • I'm bad at puzzles. Good at being weird.
  • I regret making this.

Suggestion: Buff it

Where to start, where to start...

Let's start with slide, then. Magma Slide is 30 RPP, and for the price, you get a wave that's supposed to apply mud on impact and deal good damage, 5 tiles wide. If it worked as described, I probably wouldn't have many complaints. Except it doesn't. The initial tick doesn't apply mud, the AoE does. Which means that if you dodge the aoe by a well-time dash or some other method, it only hits you with the initial tick of 7 spell damage. At 200 pow, it was doing 1300 initial damage. For 30 RPP. For comparison, at 200 pow, great fire wave, a 20 rpp intermediate in the base fire tome dealt about 2300-2500 damage or so. That's... Wow. Oh, and for someone who asks 'but CD?', GFW is 29s. Magma Wave is 30s.

Magma AoE is 15 RPP and is one of the smallest in the game. I'm unsure if there's *any* AoE smaller, but there's at least one of equal size. Sand AoE. You're gonna see a comparison to Sand again in the future. Sand AoE, while having a significantly weaker initial tick/aoe damage, roots the target, setting them up for a variety of follow-up spells. Fatal, whips, beams, etc. Magma AoE does deal more damage, but in a small AoE that applies no CC whatsoever, and is incredibly easy to avoid due to its size. Oh, and if you're questioning CDsc sand AoE is 25s CD, while magma is 23s. Let's show you a comparison to another AoE you can get if you go down the magma path.

https://gyazo.com/61f2cdcf2d2cfbe61d2dacdf1296e0dc

What a difference, for the same RPP. Scorch might deal less damage, but when it's this much easier to land, the damage will be incredibly consistent, which I value over big numbers that you'll only land against an idiot.

Volcanic Barrier is an immunity button, something many trees have now. Let's do a comparison. Iron Body has a 26s CD, and lasts for 5s, and is a self-root. Nothing else. Barrier of Sand has a 25s CD, lasts 8s, and fires an aoe of projectiles around the user every 1s to discourage someone standing next to you waiting for an opening. Projectiles do modest damage. Mistform lasts 3s, has a 31s CD, and allows you movement while in use. Volcanic Barrier lasts 10s, has a 30s CD, and is a self-root.

Long CD, nothing keeps people from standing on top of you, while the long duration ensures that whatever spell they'll want to use as you emerge will be off CD. Sand immunity literally does the same thing, but is slightly shorter, has a *shorter CD*, and fires damaging projectiles which have an impressive enough range that it'll usually hit someone at least once.

The only decent spell in Magma is the aura, which is 8% DR and 15 Pow, but with the ever increasing number of AP increasing auras and bladestyles... Maybe it's enough, but maybe not.

In conclusion, buff magma for the love of god. Make the AoE bigger, apply mud on initial ticks, give the wave more damage. There's a reason out of the massive number of players still on E3, *no one* has gone Magma in a noticeable way, myself aside, the success of which I attribute to fire *in spite* of magma rather than because of it.

  The Osrona Imperial Quarry

The Osrona Imperial Quarry

For much of Osrona's history, the majority of stone for building production has come from Silverwall Mine. However, an important secondary source has come further south, from the Imperial Stone Quarry. The search for a quarry initially began in 1220, when an Osronan alchemist laboratory exploded, sending roughly ten thousand lust potions into the local water network. The ensuing population boom required enormous amounts of new construction, and so a new stone source was located by local Earth magi.

A meteorite originally struck this area long before it was settled, leaving a wide basin impact crater and exposing a large amount of metals and good stone; the fine, hard-impacted rock near the meteor site was particularly sought-after for its use in Essharan statuary.

The site has been largely stripped commercially in the past few centuries that it's been in use; good deposits of stone or metals are mainly only found in small, natural or dug-out tunnels in the quarry itself. Nowadays, new construction in the city (such as the districts of Sudbury and the town of Messaris) are almost entirely wood, leaving stonemasonry only profitable for statue carvers.

The site has been out of use and generally ignored by the City (except for enterprising and curious Magi) for the past two decades, leaving it up to grabs for those who might find the best use of the area's natural resources.

Introducing a new small area dungeon (something like Silverwall, but on a smaller scale) the Imperial Quarry! Coming Soon! ™. Like Silverwall it will also have an ownable lot, allowing a faction/individual to "control" the area ICly.

Event Preferences: Just about anything, though particularly into events that give me opportunities to expand upon the existing lore.

Anything Else: Worldbuilding is fun. I enjoy introducing various, and hopefully memorable characters relevant to the narrative, giving folks stuffs and hooks to possibly pursue further in future events, and all that.
