Deities in the context of Eternia are defined as beings of power significantly beyond mortal races that, save for a few outliers, do not exist in the hierarchy of Angels but remain extremely powerful and capable of significant influence on the world and mortals who appropriately gain their favour through pacts.

Kraus Eternia

The Archangel that led all Angels into the dimension that would become Eternia, almost all things of the world come from Kraus, directly or otherwise. The creation of Eternia tore Kraus' form apart, but He has since occasionally manifested. While no living mortal can speak of ever having seen the Archangel, his essence pervades all of creation. He is, naturally, considered the greatest of all deities in the world of Eternia, and is commonly known as 'The Creator' to mortals.

Divine Spirits

Before the world was created, the Divine Spirits were manifested to help lay the foundations, each born from the soul of Archangel Kraus. Embodiments of nature, the ten Divine Spirits are the most power beings in Eternia, save for perhaps the Angels and -of course- Kraus Eternia himself. The animals that inhabit the world, many of them having been created by the Divine Spirits, often resemble these deities. Given the importance of the Divine Spirits, they are considered by many to be 'Major Deities'.

Asena

Asena is the creator of the Ookami race, and the Divine Spirit of Summer. This mysterious entity is known as the Spirit of the Wild or the Great Wolf Spirit, and is one aspect of the dual aspects of nature. Her counterpoint is Saekanis. Asena represents Summer and the beginning. Creation, life, games, and growth of plants are all in her domain. Asena always takes the form of the same massive female white wolf when she manifests in the world. The length of her coat and the plant life adorning her body varies depending on the season.

Saekanis

Saekanis is one of the few Godlike entities that came about after Kraus' initial creation of Eternia, the Divine Spirit of Winter. Also referred to as the Plague Wolf and the Lord of Entropy, Saekanis is the counter-part to the Ookami's main deity of worship; Asena. Saekanis' domains are emotions, death (in the physical sense, worshippers do not believe that Saekanis seems to have interest in shepherding the souls of the dead) entropy and chaos (and ultimately destruction). A lack of interest in the souls of the dead could be due to the fact that Saekanis represents the destruction inherent in nature, as necessary to be recycled by Asena for life once more. In 1780 AC, Saekanis swept over Esshar, causing a horrible plague to strike the land.

Ixchel

Prowling the jungles of Gehenna, Ixchel resembles a giant panther, fading into the shadows at night. When the moon sets in Gehenna, the sun rises in Jianghu, the opposite side of the world.

Jiuweihu

A celestial, golden fox, representing the sun and residing at the peak of Kunlun Mountain within the Imperial Empire of Jianghu.

Leonaus

The Divine Spirit of the Stars, Leonaus takes the form of a great celestial lion. The constellation of Leonaus is a cornerstone of The Faith of Osrona.

Ryujin

Wise and benevolent, Ryujin acts as a guide to lost spirits. Some claim to spot them flying through the sky after a great battle, his blue scales shimmering with magic, beckoning the deceased to rise up and follow him. He was the firstborn of the Divine Spirits, tasked with breathing fire into the spirit of man, the first spark of life. When not carrying out their duty, they dwell within the spirit world. The creator of the Spirit Realm. His primary element is fire.

Shenlong

Thunder follows the Skywarden, and it is said to dwell within a fortress that floats aimlessly within the stratosphere, always surrounded by thunder and lightning and harming any trespassers that have the incredible ability to fly so high, but yet aren't tuned to the surrounding element as profoundly as the Skywarden's dragons. The 'children' of Shenlong are said to differ from their kin, unable to sport wings and instead having antler-like horns. His primary element is lightning.

Jormungandr

The great serpent of the sea, Jormungand is the lord of the oceans. As fluid as the water it represents, it enjoys watching the creatures within the depths grow and change. Eventually, these creatures grow to become the leviathans that the dangerous seas are known for. His primary element is water.

Quetzalcoatl

Brash and Cynical, Quetzalcotal’s task was to define what the Spirit Lord Ryujin built during creation. Born with a heightened sense of grace and insight, the feathered serpent would never know what it was like to be content. Aiming only for perfection, Quetzalcoatl would find herself always aiming to make something is refined, perfect, and beautiful. Her 'children' host green, feathered wings as opposed to the usual orange leather of Ryujin's brood. She is said to stalk the jungles of the continent Gehenna. Her primary element is wind.

Huatl

Deep within the reaches of the largest volcano among the land, a beast rests and licks his feathered wounds as the crimson scales of the Solar Drake rumbles within the world's core. Said to have created the landmasses of Gehenna along with the Cloud Weaver due to their bout, the Solar Drake is said to commandeer earth and magma so easily that if he were angered profusely he could easily destroy the lands he's created. His primary element is earth.

Minor Deities

Primordials

The Primordial beings are some of the most powerful, ancient entities to exist, said to be children of the divine spirits or components of the universe that emerged during the first moments of creation. Their characteristics and appearance vary from one to the other. All are capable of shapeshifting and some are even known to walk among humans. These Minor Deities are a more attainable source of divine-esque attention than the Divine Spirits or the Angels, and for this they are considered Gods in their own right.

Void Entities

Beings that usually exist in the depths of the Cosmos, where even the stars cannot reach, the origin of the Entities of the Void are unknown -and perhaps indeed unknowable. Contact with these eldritch beings often drive mortals insane.

  • The Deep One: A dark god of the Sirenian faith, the Deep One -also termed the Mori- is a creature trapped within the ocean floor beneath the Sirenian city of Kerdanhel. Its whispers one of its most dangerous weapons, the Deep One is considered a void beast due to accounts of its worshippers utilising a corrupted form of cosmic magic.

Dark Lord of Helheim

The Dark Lord of Helheim is a figure largely shrouded in mystery. The Fireblooded faith describes him as an Avatar of Destruction that wanted nothing more than to slay the greatest dragon of all. What is known is that the Dark Lord is the master of all Witches, granting them unholy power in return for their souls.
