Since the year 200 A.C., the Foretellers have stood as the guardians and speakers of the Pantheon. Rather than serve one particular primordial, they work to preserve the sanctity and records of all of them. An organization shrouded in secrecy, their particular brand of magic is a marvel to those uninitiated, the Foretellers are often regarded in high esteem, as well as wariness by the common populace.

For generations past- kings, queens, and rulers alike sought the advice of the Foretellers. In times of war, strife, uncertainty, and remembrance, the wise counsel of the Foreteller has been considered a necessity, for naught other could more accurately predict the future, as well as read the nature of omens.

Life and Customs[edit]

A holy person of reverence, the Foreteller is not developed, but chosen at birth. There are no more than three Foretellers within a given generation, with the older teaching and imparting the values upon the newly chosen. It remains a secret how a Foreteller can be distinguished, but those in the past are remembered for their unique eye color, from red to pink, as well as purple. Many take on markings of the primordials upon their person, as a means to show their devotion to the Pantheon of Meranthe.

In nearly all cases, a Foreteller has been someone of common birth, from a low-born pauper to a baker's child, there is no common theme. Upon being chosen, a Foreteller is expected to leave their attachments behind in entirety, assume a new name, and devote their lives to the Pantheon. Not allowed to take a spouse or have children, their focus is on serving as messengers.

In addition, the Foretellers have also acquired an expansive library, considering themselves protectors of knowledge as much as they are voices of the Gods.

Fortuna[edit]

Existing for thousands of years, the Foreteller has developed a unique form of magic, specific to their creed and function. The gift of foresight, of divination, of interpreting the timestream, both past and present. A gift that they call Fortuna. They are given messages not literally, but through vision and prophecy. While incredibly rare, there have been a few recorded cases of an otherwordly voice speaking through a Foreteller, whether or not it is of the Gods remains a scholarly debate.

Masters of luck, the Foretellers are considered to be experts in time magic.

Hall of the Foreteller[edit]

The Hall of the Foreteller stands as the primary residence of the Foretellers, located within the outskirts of modern-day Aphros' claimed territory. In times past the hall has served as a meeting place for nations to gather, with the Foretellers serving as neutral mediators. A place of religious significance, it is often crowded with the devoted seeking out their fortune.

It is also utilized by noble and ruler alike to receive guidance, before war, marriage, or any other significant event.
